Guardian Angel

A feather drifts in softly
Through my window of dreams,
From the wings of an angel
With a soul that redeems.

A plumage so weightless
And silent in flight,
Which is delicately gilded
And shimmers so bright.

A gift from my guardian
Who swallows my fears,
And blows me a breeze
To dry up my tears.

A light flaxen whisper
When my world falls apart,
A kiss from an angel
With a golden heart.

Next time you are lost
Or your hopes are on trial,
Let me find you a feather
And bring you a smile.

I’ll capture the glow
From a shooting star,
And help you to fly
Like the angel you are.
